FIREFIGHTERS PARTICIPATE
IN PENGUIN PLUNGE

to benefit NH Special Olympics

Last Sunday February 4th, six Derry firefighters braved near freezing temperature to raise nearly $1500.00 for the Special Olympics of New Hampshire.

The 8th Annual Penguin Plunge was held at Hampton Beach. Firefighters Skip Wedge, Steve Hussey, Shawn Haggart, Scott Haggart, Rich Fisher, and Ron Sebastian jump in the Atlantic Ocean wearing T-shirts with Penguins on them and a whole lot of goose bumps.

During the event which raised almost $500,000 the firefighters ran as group into the icy ocean during the first of three wave, totaling over 300 penguins plungers.
