 Today the organizations that represent all police and firefighters announced the formation of a strategic alliance. The purpose of the alliance is to work with the legislature when it comes to the New Hampshire Retirement System. These groups represent active and retired NH Retirement System Members.

 “Our job is to meet with the NH Legislature and assist them with creative ways to address any issues of our system, perceived or real. We will proceed in an organized fact finding manner to offer plan design changes that ensure a strong retirement system,” said Steve Arnold Past President of the NH Police Association

 Bedford Police Chief David Bailey of the NH Chiefs of Police said, “It is important that members of the Group 2 Retirement System work for a positive outcome in addressing the short comings of the New Hampshire Retirement System if they exist.”

 David Lang, President of the Professional Firefighters of New Hampshire said “In order to efficiently analyze the current retirement situation and present new ideas to the NH House and Senate we need to work in unison collaboratively, management and labor.”

 Chris LeClaire NH Fire Chiefs Association said, “We expect this Alliance to assemble the talents of all of our respective organizations, analyzing the issues, gathering the facts and proposing positive solutions that do not harm anyone group being mindful of the taxpayers.”

New Hampshire Troopers Association New Hampshire Police Association

New Association of Fire Chiefs

New Hampshire State Permanent Firefighters Association        

Professional Firefighters of New Hampshire

These groups represent a significant majority of members of the Group 2 Retirement System and understand that as more groups emerge their involvement is encouraged.
